Does 12 yo daughter stipulation to linger 2 months for pediatric neurosurgeon appt.?
Last week my 12 yo daughter had a severe landing on her neck while vault in gymnastics. The MRI revealed a torn muscle in her d¨Ścolletage. She has alot of pain, swelling within the neck and her face, no reflex in her arms but full range of motion and some tingling contained by her arms when raised above her head and she is contained by c-collar. However her doctor can't get her into a pediatric neurosurgeon until June 9th at dallas children's hospital. The treating physician has told me to completely keep a tight rein on her physical activities to none bc of the tear possibly getting worse and cause possible paralysis (this has freaked me out) she is a very busy child 30 hrs a week in gym etc, sitting still drives her crazy, anyway if it is this severe shouldn't we be trying everything to get her see by a specialist before June? Any suggestions or ideas would be so appreciated.

Yes, a paralysis is a go threatening and life changing event. She patently needs to stop all physical commotion. Especially no more running. If you have the money get a second belief.You have to confide to her that if she doesn't obey her doctor after she may be in a wheelchair the rest of her life.
Sometimes desperate things happen to us all. Watching video of paralyzed or disabled people may also help silver her mind.
