Does spasm increase your blood pressure?
I'm just wondering if Pain can increase your blood pressure? I'm in really unpromising pain at the moment with my teeth (am waiting for dentist appt) it's pretty extreme. I a short time ago took my blood pressure and the bottom register is 101 !! The total reading was 135/101. I'm normally around 115 to 130 over 75 to 85.
So I'm curious to know if the twinge could have made it jump up?
Answer: Absolutely. Being contained by pain can cause stress to your body, which can produce your blood pressure to rise. Has happened to me a couple times and the doctor said that was the explanation..
Pain can cause tension and stress, which contained by turn can increase your blood pressure. You are also most likely worried about your teeth, which also cause stress, which increases you bp.
The fact that your diastole pressure is 101 is rather worrisome though, as it should be around 80. I recommend that you try to relax for awhile and hold another reading. If it remains that high, you should consult a doctor. Simply call your doctors bureau and ask, if they think it is serious enough they will recommend what you should do.
