Does the climate of, read aloud, Arizona aid population near arthritis?
My mom has a chronic case of arthritis: it's very raw for her. She thinks that moving from Maryland to Arizona will make her pain newly go away, like magic. (You will probably make out a bit of sarcasm here...)
Anyway, she thinks that we should just give up our entire energy here in MD so she can feel better, but we don't even know if AZ would really do much for her. Even during the summer (yes, our summers are not dry) with the electric fire temperatures, she's still in oodles of pain. I consider her case of arthritis is too severe for there to be much improvement lately by moving.
Does anyone have any suggestions for her to deal with her spasm? Any experience in AZ? Anything would help.
Thanks!
Answers: *That is why I moved to Texas from Michigan. Warmer climates do help abundantly. Also a pain clinic can help with injections and distress meds. Source(s): fibromyalgia patient
Baby's skin healthy-looking swelling bite?
Did you know, that in the Native American Population of Arizona they have more Arthritis per team leader of population than anywhere else? No not those who moved to AZ, but the Native, people going back generations born within AZ! If only moving to a hot climate helped, we would all be living within the Desert. Best of LuckI lived in Arizona briefly and it was scorching hot... I didn't have arthritis but I hold heard and saw a lot of elderly people near the same notion as your mother has. Florida is another popular place they go seeking nouns from pain but there is no cure all for that.
Warm temperature always help sore muscles but you could do that with a heat pad...sorry love I wish I knew.
I do enjoy arthritis in my knee that acts up surrounded by the wintertime but I didn't have any pain back after when I lived in Az.
I own have migraine headache for the..
yup. wonderful weather too, if you won't miss not having rain (it one and only rains about once a year, and then not so much).see out for the scorpions!
OWWW!! MY TONGUE!! I estimate i ate..
Oooh, you're not going to like this. :)We moved to AZ four years ago and my husband's arthritis is about 40% better.
Why don't you send your mother here for a pop in during the time of year that her arthritis is the most painful?
I had spent my entire life within San Francisco, four years ago we moved to Atlanta and after 6 months we moved to AZ. when we left SF we were thinking we'd spend a year in Atlanta. That mode we could experience all four seasons and decide if we could tolerate the climate. We didn't product it because we were so miserable there nothing else matter. We love it here in AZ but I was ready to take out of CA. I tried a few times over the years but always found myself back in Sf in 6 months because of the homesickness. It's hard to leave a lifetime behind and you really do own to be ready. this time, I was ready.
We don't live down within the desert, we live up in the forest area and the climate is very different than an hour south contained by Phoenix. We have snow on the ground now and it gets down into the teens at darkness. Summertime our max temp is in the high 90s unlike Phoenix, Tucson or Mesa where the thermometer reach 120.
We know people who have said the climate worked wonders for them, yes it was close to magic but there are others who say the difference is insignificant. Your mother would really enjoy to live here for a year, all four seasons before you know how much it would give support to her.
I have RSD and my feet were so swollen that I hadn't worn indisputable shoes in 10 years. I lived in oversized slippers. Now I wear my old size 7 shoes and even bought my first duo of heels in ages. AND I'm walking 2 miles a day which is a huge accomplsihment for me.
You know, there are so heaps lovely senior facilities here, everything from nursing homes to assisted living facilities to senior apartments. Any chance your mother could live here for a year on her own and later you can see how much difference it makes for her? It would also give you the opportunity to come visit and see how you resembling it.
I adore it here but again, I was ready to leave my lifelong home. We know that if we ever wanted to retire we had to get out of California and away from that high-ranking cost of living. There are so many wonderful things about the area we live within.
My mother lives with me and I totally understand your sarcasm, by the way :) I would dislike intensely the idea of uprooting my family to accomodate my mother's whims. Of course my mother is a hypochondriac and has a manipulative streak a mile broad. She has often used assorted illnesses to get her road. Although it sounds like you know that your mother's arthritis is a serious problem for her.
Good luck. If I can tell you anything about Arizona consistency free to email me. If you let me know the type of town you live in I could tell you what towns here might compare so you could research them.
PS, if anyone have hayfever type allergies this would be a terrible place to live. when my son came to visit his eyes almost swelled shut and my mother's feeler runs continually.
