Fell down concrete steps, numb underneath my knees?
I slipped on ice on Tuesday and went down at least 5 concrete steps, I land on my shins and knees. Of course, I have scratches and some bruising, but under my right knees it is swollen (went down when I took ibuprofen, but still a little swollen) and my skin is numb, but if you push down on it, it hurts like a terrible bruise. I didn't step to the hospital because I hate them and try to avoid them as much as possible. I can walk and it's not uncomfortable, but any direct pressure on that nouns hurts bad and makes me wince in backache. What do you think it could be? The numbness of the area has me stumped. Anyone own this happen to them?
Answers: I would go to the ER and have them transport X-Rays...it sounds like you might have an ACL tear...as for the numbness...you could hold partially damaged a nerve, which would explain the on and past its sell-by date pain when you press down on it. So you don't risk further and more dehabilitating injury I would go to the ER first thing contained by the morning.

i don't walk to the doctors really, i ignore it most of the time just because i don't like to lift meds just for a bit of pain.
