Finding a Doctor?

So, my family doesn't have a "familial doctor". And I've never had health insurance until I go to college (and the school's insurance I think only covers for the school's services - hold to check that).

I had a pediatrician that I used to occasionally go see, but immediately that I've turned 19, I supposed that's not an option (also, she's located REALLY far away).

And so I was looking for a alien physician that I can see regularly, but I have NO idea what to do. Do simple, regular checkups cost alot? Can I... register (? how does that work?) beside a physician without the knowledge/aid of my parent? - I live by myself in an apt away from home. Do I newly open the yellow book and pick a doctor?

If you could assistance me out, that would be so nice. >_< I dont know where to start...

Student medical insurance from your school starts out as adjectives insurance for check ups and emergencies. It depends on your school. Sometimes the school's insurance partner with other hospitals outside of school. Is near a county hospital around your school? They might accept your student insurance. I'm not sure almost having your own doctor since you only hold your school's basic insurance.

You can see any doctor but as long as they are part of the insurance see. Make sure you call the doctor in credit to see if they are accepting any new patients and how soon you can set up an appointment.

Since you are on a budget, check out discounted health programs similar to Ameriplan. I am member on the Ameriplan Basic Health Plan and I get discounts up to 50-80 % rotten of medical services like Dental, Vision, Prescription, Doctor visits, and Chriopractic services. It is not insurance but if you own little or no insurance at all, this program for only $29.99 per month can be extremely helpful and can save you lots of money.
