Gout misery...any warning,prepared to try anything?
I have severe pain contained by my right ankle, have had it for 5 months, go to the ER and they said I have gout and handed me zilch but a huge bill...I do not eat anything that causes this but it is on both sides of my clan and is rare in women. This is awful it hurts adjectives the time, sometimes I cannot even walk. I would rather break my ankle create at least its done and over once its healed, living near this is like torture.

I feel for you; my mom come down with gout, and she was surrounded by quite a bit of pain. Actually, the doctors should hold really checked your medical history to see what is causing this, because everyone's body is different.I am not sure if you were told something like gout ay be caused by your body having a elevated level of uric acid. My mother's is cause by her taking such a large dosage of diretics for a heart condition.
You should look at a purine diet, and check the list to see if here is anything that you can find that may cause a gout flair up. Not everything on the Gout Diet list will produce everyone to have the same sensitivity. For example, it says that gout patiencts should not eat beef, seafood, cauliflour, and etc... Maybe seafood and cauliflour is whay cause your flair up and beef causes my mother's; you need to find your inflict.
And, like the doctor told my mother, her body will always own a high amount of uric acid; as a consequence, she can have a flair up at any time. Also, she is allergic to the gout medicine, so she have to take a small amount of prednisone.
I had gout for years. It be associated with my high triglyceride level, which impeded my kidney function, which left excess uric sour in my blood, which lead to gout. Your situation may be at variance. I can tell you that in my situation avoiding alcohol and red meat help immensely. I also had to get my trigyceride level under control.
There are drugs doctors can prescribe if you have be diagnosed with gout. One prevents attacks, the other one I got help with the pain during an attack. Called Indomethacin. It's not a local anaesthetic, it's an anti inflammatory and it was great at relieving the pain. Cherry liquid, Aleve ad lots of water are other things I took to assist me during and attack. I hope you get some relief!
the just thing that stops the pain for me is Prednazone. in that is also a med to prevent flareups, but i can't remember the name. eating nuts is what cause mine to flare up the most.

Ouch, 5 months, I had it for 3 weeks and wanted to die!!Of course you should other keep your ankle elevated and ice it every 2 hours. This sounds crazy, but take your self some Black Cherry Juice, (real, no artifical) drink it like crazy, it counter acts the Uric Acid i.e. built up to cause the Gout.
It's not a wives tale, I promise you it worked wonders for me.

There is a drug that they prescribe for Gout that is fairly expensive if you don't have insurance, but I feel approaching its worth it. Its called Lyrica, you can ask your doctor for a prescription of it, also you can take Lasix, which is a prescribed dampen pill.
You must be careful with hose down pills though.
