I slammed my on a table and didn't realize there was a thumb tack on the table. It go right into the palm of my hand, about a 1/2 inch above the wrist. It is sore at the puncture site perceptibly, but what worries me is that the area right below my middle finger is sore, which is pretty much a direct line from the injury. Should I be concerned?

hmmm. you may own reason to be concerned. If the pin has dilapidated any ligaments or nerves or tendons leading from the wrist to the finger then yes, here is reason to be concerned. The way you describe the point of soreness person inline with the puncture site also suggests this may have happen. It could be nothing, just the impact of you hitting your appendage on the table. It could have ended up worse (broken wrist, paw, smashing the bones in your hand etc) but you call for to see a doctor if possible. It is important that if in that are any problems then you find them and treat them now, not within a years time when it really gives you grief.
