Has any body have cartilage transplant surgery within thier knees?

I've had 2 surgeries for meniscus problems, now I hold major damage to my articular cartilage. My doctor have mentioned this surgery called ACI where they whip cartilage from my knee grow it in a lab and reimplant it. I want to know if anybody have had this surgery, and how has the outcome be? I want to eventually train for a triathalon, but its wayy to painful to even run.

Answer:    I have worked near a surgeon who does cartilage replacement. It has been successful near most patients, Nothing can replace that damaged cartilage in your knees but cartilage replacement may help you.
