Has anyone ever have a problem taking hydrocodone and lexapro together?
I know a lot of you are going to think this is a stupid question, and so do I. But I go to www.drugs.com and looked up interactions with lexapro, and hydrocodone was one of them along with A LOT of other medication even OTC meds, cough meds, antihistamine, anti-inflammatory. And yes the hydrocodone I'm asking in the region of is prescribed to me so don't think I'm just a pill popper wanting to know this.
I have taken them together and be fine and I think it should still be fine, I really would like to know if anyone else has have any side effects from taking both or if you might know someone that has.
Answers: The reason that drugs.com came vertebrae with an interaction is because both of these drugs work on the central nervous system and can depress breathing and other CNS functions. When used together, the possibility is complex. However, I have taken both together and the pharmacist said it is safe. There is one drug that should never be taken while on an SSRI like Lexapro and to be exact Tramadol. The tramadol has been shown to increase the incidence of Seritonin Syndrome because Tramadol also effects the production and release of seritonin, just close to the antidepressant. If you are still worried, call the pharmacy. If you get all your prescriptions bursting at one pharmacy or chain, they will catch any potential interactions. Source(s): Used them both before at duplicate time.
Of course, you should always consult your pharmacist. Make sure to use the same pharmacy to obtain adjectives your medications. This way any interactions will be caught.
Typically, you can take Lexapro and hydrocodone/apap together.
Lexapro is a SSRI and hydrocodone/apap is a dull pain medication.
