Has anyone made a med error? I enjoy made two contained by olden times few months...?
I am now being written up with a deterrent that I will be fired if it happens again. I am not a nurse. I am a support worker in a group home. I was never hired on next to medication administering as being part of my job. They integrated it after I have been there for a while so it would be of help to the other staff.
This is exceedingly upsetting to me, and I am even more nervous then before. When I gain nervous I screw up. I don't want to give out any more meds seriously.
Answers: Then you shouldnt contribute out any more meds. You were not hired to give out medication. You should tell them this and if they fire you because of it after seek legal action. But maintain this in mind. If you give someone something wrong and they get seriously bad or die, would you be okay with that?

Oh, now I think I fathom out. I think they are being extra strict on you because you are not a nurse and so they watch you more attentively. but, yes, a med error is bad, but that would be easy to do since you are not a nurse. I took a medical assisting course and little things made me nervous too. (I never did own a job doing this though). I ended up working for the government but insufferable it. Well, pray and ask God's guidance. Do you go to church? If so, you should be in a support group. Many churches have cell groups and they grasp together in people's homes. You need this kind of support. Hope you find a polite one.My Mother went to see her Doctor who changed her blood pressure medication. After three days she was in my assessment worse, wanted to go to bed with dizziness and so on? Two weeks subsequently got a letter in the letters to tell her to STOP taking the drug, as they had just be notified that the 25mgs pills, actually contained 50mgs of the drug!
Everyone makes mistakes and to be precise what makes us Human. We kinda accept that Doctors, Nurses and even Pharmacists make mistakes, but how habitually do we ask if the Pharmaceutical Company makes a big mistake when manufacturing the pill? Best of Luck
