No you will not need surgery if it is minimal. You possibly own a class 1. This is not a big deal. Many many ethnic group have it with no symptoms. Some win back pain. Your prognosis is not as suitable if you have a spondylolysis associated with it. You will be more apt to enjoy pain and possible disc problems in the adjectives if this is the case.
