How to Sleeping Really Well?

I'm having trouble sleeping. No matter what I do, I end up near mediocre sleep. As in sleeping in too much, not being competent to fall asleep, or not getting enough sleep.

It's essential that I get satisfactory sleep. I'm trying to improve my diet and exercise. Diet and exercise is directly linked to good sleeping customs. Unless I improve my sleep, I'm unlikely to improve anything else. I'll just hold on to waking up late, unenergetic ect.

Is in that any kind of medical field that specifically focuses on sleep patterns? Anything I can read up on? Like actual medical stuff back up by hard science? Maybe there's something I'm doing wrong. I do eat and drink food right up to when I go to sleep, probably this is bad because it effects my bladder, leading me to interrupt my sleep and wake up contained by the morning earlier and use the bathroom. I also use the computer right up to when I go to sleep, perhaps this is impossible because the shift to sleeping isn't gradual enough. Perhaps a non-electronic activity like reading is better formerly sleep? Also maybe lighting conditions to get my body into the mood helps.

Anyways if anyone have any advice, medical background, science articles ect, I'd really appreciate it.
