What can i do to dwindle the misery of split shins?

every morning me & my dad run 3 1/2 miles to get me ready for my high university basketball again this year but a few mins after starting my legs start to hurt but he pushes me to run he says its just cause i haven't run in a while

Your dad is right about saying you hold shin splints because you haven't run in awhile but you running through shin splints can make them worse. If they really hurt take a couple of days sour from running, you can work on cardio doing things like swimming or biking so you don't have to completely stop training. If you absolutely do not want to stop running next ice your legs when you can throughout the day and when you are running wrap your shins. Use a tensor bandage and wrap it around, afterwards take some tape and wrap it around. Don't do the tape to tight or you will cut rotten circulation, you just want it tight enough so that when your muscle is flexed it puts pressure on it. Try to avoid running on pavement or get really moral insoles for your running shoes if you are, it's best to run on dirt or grass.
