Trigeminal Neuralgia, do i own it?
I think I might have this, i researched it on the internet and have plentiful of the symptoms described. Such as the shooting pain down behind my ear. It comes frequently, and randomly. When I touch the upper fund, right side of my head, it makes a dull pain, and realllllly hurts. I don't suggest I have the severe kind, but, I heard it could seize worse.
I also heard that some dental stuff would contribute to this,
and reccently i got braces and had to obtain oral surgery for an impacted tooth...
This is my first day of having these symptoms... so i'm wondering if i should just linger it out and see if it's something that'll go away.
I myself am 13 years old >_< so, i'm a little skeptical on this..
since TN is found commonly more contained by older people.
But, i told my dad about this and he dismissed it as sleeping too much and person lazy =___=;
i was wondering if this is true...
confused on what causes TN, does stress and insomnia motivation this?
its bearable, but really annoying.
But don't really wanna go to a special doctor or watever since its really pricey... so wanna confirm it with you guys 1st.

I have trigeminal neuralgia, and honestly, your pain doesn't sound resembling TN to me. You probably wouldn't be feeling it in the back of your director or into your neck if it were your trigeminal nerve. It sounds to me as if it is more potential either a recurring tension headache (particularly since you mention stress and insomnia), referred cramp from your dental work, or a developing case of TMJ.
You don't need to see a specialist now, so don't step the gun. If the pains persist, you can go to see your family doctor. Let him or her trademark the call as to whether a specialist is needed. In the meantime, I'd recommend you try some ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, etc.) and getting a good night's sleep.
trigeminal neuralgia is intensely painful. Take 800 mgs of ibuprofin as soon as you feel the sensitivity in your scalp start - beforehand you get the shooting pain. Gabapentin can also relieve the symptom. Yes it can be triggered by dental work. Only a neurologist could tell you what is cause it and how to treat it. This is just my advice becasue i get it from time to time. And i am elder, 54 but I have been getting it for about 10 years but merely a few times a year, thank God.
The pain you grain is referred from your jaw and teeth. You had a lot of work done, and beforehand you jump to a TN diagnosis, you would want to rule out TMJ (tempomnndibular joint). It's your jaw. Really, you ar fine, but you would get even better if you took 2 aspirin and stopped checking diseases online, unless it's a homework assignment.
Honest, you're polite. Braces and impacted tooth removal are trauma. It takes time to recover, and it's normal for your mouth bone (and gums) to be sore and refer pain to your face, head, etc. Source(s): medical milieu &
