2 yr matured beside a metatarsal fracture?
Hi! I have never had a broken bone so I have no conception on what to expect or to do really.
It happened last night, she be at the playground and a little boy ran into her while she was on a platform cause her to fall. She landed on her feet and after fell forward. I took her to the ER after her not putting any weight on either foot for 30 mins. I got nearby and she was able to stand on her left but not the right.
They did x-rays and said she have a fracture on the 1st metatarsal on her right foot. I didn't see the x-rays so I dont know where on the bone. They seemed rushed to get me out the door.
But they did put a splint on her foot and leg. Just resembling a cast almost. they said to get a appt with ortho for mon or tuesday.
They also said next to her being young that they will more than likely put a style on her, is that true?
How long does it take to heal?
Any info would be wonderful. I feel lost for my toddler girl.

your girl may have a broken foot, then she's going to obtain a cast for 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of the injury, it doesn't seem too serious. The doctor can make her to choose the color of her strike, you have to ask if she's allowed to walk on that foot, and if you can ask for a waterproof stereotype so she can take normal baths, it costs extra but it's worth, The first days can be bad but the rest of the light of day your girl will be feeling good with her foot, is better that you lug her to the ortho tomorrow, monday, so you'll know if she needs a cast. Her cast will be in motion from hher toes to below her knee. She will feel better with the imprint than she's feeling with the splint. You sound a really good parent for asking for your girl's health.

I broke my metatarsal when i was young and my undamaged foot was put in a cast, i still hold it! It takes roughly 4 weeks to heal sufficiently enough for it to be removed.
