Hello, does anyone know why you can't drink any marine 8 hours formerly surgery?

thanks very much!
Answers:
it is typical for someone underneath general anesthesia to get nauseous and vomit. if you own nothing in your stomach, you dont vomit and breathe it in, which is call aspirating, to your lungs.
level of importance; 8
if you must drink water, sip it, or suck on rime cubes.
yes, i have disobeyed my drs orders, using the advice i give to you, which was given to me by my mom (a retired nurse)
Depends on your doctor, i was told 24 hours once and another time 12 hours.

its cause the meds they distribute you to relax your muscels can cause you to throw up, if you throw up water in your sleep and can't move or swallow you can choke to passing.

When you get surgery done they can put a pump in your stomach to be extra safe, which is almost other done for any type of majorish surgary...

OBEY THE RULE!
People HAVE died from it!
They tell you these things to safe your life...
because eating and drinking increases the chances of complications occurring when you are asleep during surgery
I am not entirely sure, but it can't be TOO important. I had a D&C following a miscarriage within June and drank a bottle of water about two hours before surgery (I'd forgotten adjectives about the no water rule). When they asked what I ate/drank and when... they didn't seem concerned at adjectives.
No water so when the intubate you (put the breathing tube down your throat) your gag reflex doesn;t cause you throw up and you can inhale it and it can cause pneumonia or death. it is very esteemed that you don;t drink water and follow doctors instructions, Source(s): i am an emergency room nurse
so you dont throw up water on their face
