Soak in a hot tub before bed. Read a book in bed.
I put my body to sleep piece by piece: First do the right foot and next the left. Imagine each toe falling asleep then the foot afterwards the ankle. Do this very slowly until you relax your entire body.
take something that interests you and completely plan it.
Like: write a story in your boss, redecorate your room, plan your whole next day. Think around how you would spend a million dollars etc etc
I quality your pain. I'm totally the same way.
Here's what works for me: (It stinks, it's no fun, but it works.)
You freshly gotta set your alarm clock for whatever time you have to get up for arts school. Make yourself get up at that time every day. Don't let yourself thieve naps in the afternoons, at least while you're readjusting.
Don't force yourself to lounge around awake for hours before you're finally tired. But do have all your bedtime routines done and be "ready" for bed at a wearing clothes time. Get into bed and to something quiet until you're sleepy and can fall asleep.
Then, no matter what time you fell asleep the hours of darkness before, get up at the new get-up time. If you can, acquire outside and see some sunlight, breathe some fresh air.
You might get two hours of sleep the first night. But contained by about two days time, you'll be ready for bed at an earlier time. And be fully adapted to your latest schedule. This will work as long as you force yourself to get up at the same time every daytime.
It works for me every time. Source(s): Myself, and I've gotten rid of jet-lag many times in the same bearing.
try getting up earlier so you'll be more tired at darkness
