I can't sleep at darkness!?
It takes me half an hour to an hour to fall asleep every dark. I am starting high school soon and I need adjectives the sleep I can get. My mind is soo filled with things I have need of to do, things I wish would happen, things I fear, at hours of darkness my imagination goes wild and it keeps me up. I own homework, soccer, and high school life to concordat with. I can't sleep and so I fall asleep in class, NOT GOOD! Heeeeeelp! =D

You can try taking melatonin, about 1/2 hour before you want to fall asleep. You can take it at the drug store.
Also, make sure you are not drinking/eating caffeine in the afternoon. That will make it more difficult to sleep. Try doing something relaxing and save the tv off.
I have like peas in a pod problem! I told my mom i would go to sleep at 10 and its 11:58. I have depression and panic attacks deeply. so thats kinda the reason for me, but you could have a sleeping disorder and if so go to the doctor, or whip bedtime medicine as dumb as it is it works. Also, force your self to go to sleep, think peacfull things. Dont ruminate about how you cant fall asleep cause later you'll stay up longer. :P so if i were you and your starting highschool soon you should even your times out, go to sleep an hour earlier every dark it should help. It's the same like me it take me awhile to go to sleep but i always drink some milk or water previously i sleep.(of course brush your teeth after)Then watch some t.v with a low volume and make sure within is no other lights on.Just don't think about school.
another could be drinking a banana and then try closing your eyes and just think around TV shows.
say you go to bed at 9pm.... budge lay down at 8:30. turn off the TV. be ready for sleep. if you do a lot of stuff surrounded by your room like eat, watch tv, do work within your room, that also could make it hard for you to sleep. your bedroom should only be for sleeping, and if you do other things, it take a while for your brain to realize you're in the room to SLEEP!
try to avoid sugars after 7pm.
have a nice cup of hot chocolate or something.
and i ALWAYS take a tylenol PM beforehand school so im refreshed, then you'll acquire into the habit.
heat up up milk and drink before u go to sleep.
Try laying down with a book a half an hour back bedtime, or just going to bed a half hour early. You simply need a little time to unwind before you can sleep, it's certainly quite normal. You're lucky it only take you a half an hour. Some people need hours.
- Drink a thaw out glass of milk before you want to sleep.
- Try some "white noise" (you can buy it) or turn on a fan to gain some sound going in your room.
- Have a bath beside lavender oil before you want to sleep.

- Do some breathing exercises until that time you sleep to calm your body down.
- Think of a nice movie you watched, your favourite one probably. Close your eyes, try and "play" the movie in your mind while you are trying to sleep. So instead of lying in bed thinking "i need to sleep now", a short time ago close your eyes and if you have a movie that you know really well, "picture" it from beginning to completion. - You will never get to the end because you will fall asleep! sleeping pills...not the stout duty ones but the OTC ones are a blessing. I sleep like a baby. They are also non-habit forming, unlike the prescribed ones
variety sure you dont drink any soda after about 2 oclock in the afternoon, if you are totally desperate, make sure you drink a tablespooon of nyquil at hours of darkness, and take one or two benadryl tabs, they both have a sleeping agent within the,, and nyquil has a little bit of alcohol (around 7% I think) to make them work faster

you seem to be stressing out..it happen when you get older and especially when you have so much to do surrounded by high school..jus try to lay down earlier
