Pelvic/Hip Pain when standing up...?

I have been experiencing a stiff pain contained by my hip/pelvis area for about 4 months now and it seem to be getting progressively worse... It occurs when i get up/stand up after sitting for a few minutes but then ease off after walking a few steps (whilst it eases though i kind of own a limp). I visited the doctor about 6 weeks ago and he told me that i should become more active - I presently go the gym at least 3 times a weeks and it hasn't seemed to obtain any better if anything its gotten worse...

Could anyone help me with a suggestion of what it could be?

Thanks.

Hi you could have a tilted pelvis, my chiropractor told me this as since my physio have left town and the other physio i saw told me nothing was wrong i have to find someone else to help, he checked things and told me that i have a tilted pelvis, however, i would first suggest that you find a good physiotherapist who you are comfortable beside and one that specialises in the lumbo pelvic region as my physio in perth is great only problem for me is that she is 6 hours away so a bit far to see once a week. the chiropractor is fine but i don't have a feeling better in the same way as i do when i see my physio.

also i would suggest that you step for a swim or walk laps in a heated pool and preferably sideways as my physio say that is easier and better then walking forwards and backwards especially if you have a discouraging back.

hope this has helped
Go final and see your doctor again. You've likely developed Bursitis (a condition where the bursa sacs that cushion the joint have shifts and aren't quite doing their job anymore).
