Can I donate blood even though I smoke marijuana regularly?
I've just turned 17 and I want to start donating blood (I live in the UK BTW). However I smoke marijuana relatively regularly, and I was wondering if I would still be capable of donate?

My friend donates blood adjectives the time, and she smokes weed. I think goes without for roughly 2 days before though.
I'm not sure if they check for it, they shouldnt, its like free extra painkillers.
I have hear in the past that it depends on the Blood Donation centre and recurrently a 48-72 hours wait is required after smoking last. However, this is mainly surrounded by the US and other countries.
Here in UK, I believe it is ok to smoke m/j as long as you do not smoke around or at the time of donation. This is according to Red Cross guidelines if i remember correctly.
I also believe it's confidential (should they happen to find out about you smoking it).

I smoke weed and donate blood and its fine.
The only questions they ask you when you go to donate about drugs are if you have ever injected...which you probably haven't, so go for it.
