I hold a lump nearly 2" contained by circumference a short time ago above my tummy button, it sticks out and ache on episode.?
it isnt hard to the touch like a golf ball would be, but it is definate and outstandingly visible. I asked the gp if it might be a hernia and he referred me to get an ultrasound ..... ive been waiting 2 months for that. My buddy said he did not need an ultrasound for a hernia and cant understand why I am needing one. The lump is growing and I am worried!
Answers:
call your doctor again or go to the emergency room sounds like a hernia to me, the longer it is disappeared untreated the worse it will get.
I think it sounds like a hernia. AN ultrasound would be used to have a look and check what is going on. Each medical grip is different, NEVER compare your symptoms and/or treatment to somebody else.
It does nouns like a hernia - an abdominal hernia, or an umbilical hernia
Chase up with your GP how long the wait is for the ultrasound - ESPECIALLY as the hernia is very soon enlarged. You were probably referred for one because your GP wasn't sure - some hernias are more obvious than others.
I don't want to alarm you, but hernias can become very insecure and can strangulate your intestines requiring emergency surgery. This is rare, but is something you should be aware of.
If I were you would make an urgent appt beside your GP who can refer you to the General Sugery department of your local hospital. Source(s): Work for NHS
