listen to an ipod or mp3 player really quietly, or go and get some kind of noise machine, those come across to help me out :)
1) Don't view tv or go on the computer for at least an hour before bed. It's be proven that the rays that the screen gives off will preserve you up longer.
2) Wake up early and avoid taking naps during the day.
3) Try reading a chapter book until you capture sleepy (this one gets me every time, no matter how awake I am, after 5 pages or so, I am equipped to fall asleep)
4) Listen to soft music. In fact, if you have an ipod, freshly make a playlist only for bedtime music. something soft and mellow. artists such as norah jones work great.
5) Don't drink coffee past the afternoon. The effects of coffee can end well into the day and night.
6) Work out. Try working out within the afternoon. If I work out, I tend to get energetic so it's best to work out at least a couple of hours back bed. The only exercise I would recommend before bed would be yoga.
Those are just some adjectives hints. Good luck! Hope the sleeping comes easier from now on. Source(s): Had sleeping problems for many years.
Melatonin. I asked the same question on a discussion board and get so many answers saying that melatonin worked that I had to supply it a try.
It is a natural product, available in supermarkets etc, I took two 300mcg tablets about a partially hour before bedtime and drifted off to sleep within five minutes. Works every time for me.
Good luck!
