I get a intensely small drop of bleach within my eye, i mull over i wash it out, but will i turn blind?

I was bleaching clothes and i threw something in the washing tool and a drop splashed into my eye. it burned for a little but stopped. i had contacts in. i run to the shower and splashed water in my eye, took my contact out then did it again. im simply worried its not completely out and i will have long term affects and go blind!

You did the right thing...look out to watch your eye and make sure that no blister forms on it. PLEASE do not put your contact back surrounded by your eye because the material it's made from absorbs liquid (to preserve your eyes lubricated) and the bleach (if it didn't eat the contact) would still be in the material.

If a blister forms on your eye, budge to the eye doctor asap. It's totally treatable... :0)
i devise eyes are ok as long as the eye membrane is safe. which means, if you washed the bleach past its sell-by date, you're not gonna go blind.
you just have to hold washing the bleach.
bleach also won't be effective unless if its a large amount and for a long duration of time. if you without hesitation washed off a drop of bleach, i doubt you should worry going on for it. maybe don't look at the sun tomorrow to try recover your eyes faster.
No worries. Remember that swimming pools are loaded with chlorine (bleach). People get that water contained by their eyes all the time.
No, you will not go completely blind. In fact, you did exactly the right thing. Since it be a little drop, you're tears probably naturally washed it out, that's why it stopped burning. But it be still a good idea to take out your contact and hose the eye.
omg like thing happened to me a week ago! hahahaha wow that's weird alike thing happened to u! i went to the doctors after i wash it out in fear of going blind! ahahaha i went here and the Doctor told me i was worring about nothing! hahaha how unusual he told me public pools are filled with that stuff and that's y ur eyes burn when u open them underneath water:) so u need not to fear appropriate luck and hopefully u wear sunglasses for the next week to protect ur sensitive eye from sun and rinse ur eye out every day and about ur contacts if u can wear goggles for a week to help with the burning:) Source(s): hahaha happend to me:) sont fear my dear:)
As long as you don't have any vision change, you should be fine. Source(s): EMT
