Facial discomfort cause by tooth?
If anyone can offer info, I would really appreciate it, and find some relief! I've been told by dentist early this year that I need a root canal done on molar. (I haven't had this done yet) and since May of this year I hold had the most excruciating migraines which have now transformed into FACIAL PAIN. It feel as if though the "muscles" in my face are tightening up and it happens everyday! I've be to neurologists, and an ENT, which say that I had a sinus infection. (which I am not in total agreement) I am contained by the process of getting some tests done at neurologist as well. What I'd love to know if does anyone know if I get my tooth extracted (only remedy due to financial situation) will my "face-muscle pain" subside? Thanks!

Maybe you have trigeminal neuralgia. Because the symptoms are almost similar like it. Source(s): http://www.squidoo.com/trigeminal-neuralgia-cure
More than expected yes, as long as there isn't some other problem.
I would get either the root conduit done or the tooth extracted. It's a diseased tooth and not doing your body any good. Get it fixed for your health sake. Source(s): Worked in the dental grazing land over 20 years
It's hard to say if it will take watchfulness of all the pain. That really depends on exactly what it causing it within the first place. Both a molar in need of a root canal and a sinus infection can both trigger massive headache. The nerves of the face are pretty close together, and it's also possible you could have a combination of both problems. A severe sinus infection can cause tooth distress, and tooth pain can also mimic a sinus infection sometimes. An x-ray and exam of the face will usually give you the answer as to if within is an infection in the sinus cavity. Although, an abcess in an upper molar can give impossible to tell apart impression as well. It is also possible that you have true migraines as okay, but it is odd that it would have not happened until you have the tooth problem. Rather than consign the tooth to extraction, why not speak with the dentist about a payment programme or find a dentist who will work with you to do it? It is possible to do the prep one time, and then place the crown another time- even several months apart if needed. Once you have the root strait underway, you should have some pain nouns. If it is a sinus problem, then the truth of that will make itself known. It is basically that when you have a possible combo of migraine, sinus and tooth problems, it is really hard to say which is the chief problem, and what is just aggrivation, or an added misery. Start with the tooth, and work from there. Source(s): nurse
