A swollen, bruised, uncomfortable bump below a group of scratch. What does this miserable?

Being spooked by a hairdryer, my cat jumped over me to escape, and just happened to use his claws to do so. A group of three scratch have bruised, grown a small lump, and are terribly painful. Today, I enjoy used Neosporin, but it hasn't done much. What does this mean? Please help, thanks. :)

Cats nails are notorious for individual filthy. It may be an abscess (pus trapped under the skin) which should be professionally drained and cleaned. Source(s): personal experience
