So yesterday several of my fingers were accidentally shut in a truck door. One of them in a jiffy swelled. I still can't straighten it completely or bend it very far. It hurts when i use it too much or touch it on the spot where the door smashed it.

ok this matter i waz a doctor there is something wrong . it seems that u brusied ur fingers and may enjoy fractured some. if i were u go to ur doctor presently. u may have fractured a growth bone. the longer u wait the worst it may grasp. it seems u did fracture something. the thing that worrys me is that u may hold fractured a growth bone or a joint which if not see it can affect u for life(if u fracture a joint and not see a doctor soon u may not be able to bend the finger anymore). so please dance see a doctor and try keeping ur fingers straight.

How can I attain under the weather during work subsequent week but not too unwell?

I am not a doctor, but if you can move it (even a little) then it is likely merely contused/crushed and not broken. Only an x-ray would be able to tell at this point.

Mischele's answer is obedient. Barring a deformity to the finger or inability to feel it, a finger splint and rime for 20 minutes every 2-3 hours plus elevation and ibuprofen and tylenol (okay to take both at the same time) should do you up newly fine.

If you're bored, you can get an xray in the ER, but I'd probably move about to an urgent care clinic today or your physician's office tomorrow, especially if you involve to have work restrictions etc.

i am not a doctor.
But , since it hurts and swell...u should get an x-ray .
The swelling might be hematoma .
Usually in fracture , u will not know how to move the fractured part due to extreme tenderness. But , contained by ur case , im afraid that it will have involved the pooled .
No one can really tell by naked eye whether u r fractured or not especially surrounded by a closed fracture
Go and get an xray , u will not want a permanent abnormality in your finger if it turn out to be a fractured .

An x-ray would be able to let somebody know if it were broken and unless the bones were sticking within all different angles, the only point a doctor would tell you would be to splint the finger by buying a finger splint at a pharmacy and tape it up. You can also splint it by tape it to the finger next to it (but not another injured finger). Keep ice on it for the first 24-48 hours and consequently switch to heat. It could take a month or more for it to fully make well.
