Help! Can't sleep! Over the counter medication isn't working?

I havent been able to sleep properly for over a month presently.. I went to the doc and had blood work done.. they found nought.. of course that means they didn't prescribe me anything.. so I've be taking Simply Sleep and Nyquil capsules.. they were working great for a while.. until this bygone week..

Last night I took two Simply Sleep and they weren't working.. at around 4AM I took another which I'm sure isn't good for me.. nought! Finally around 8AM I drifted off but only for roughly speaking an hour.. I just gave up and am in a minute sitting in a comotose state on my couch.. and I'm getting hysterical due to the accumulation of insufficiency of sleep..

I need some kind of over the counter medication for tonight to go and get some rest.. and I'm looking into going to a different doctor this week to get a better diagnosis..

Anybody who has tried a honourable sleep aid and has advice please sustain me? I'm desperate at this point

Go to the drug store or health food store and get a bottle of Melatonin. Its a inborn sleep inducer, non addictive and safe to use. I use it for those times when I am having trouble falling asleep and it works close to a charm. Doesn't leave me feeling "drugged" approaching some other sleep aids do.

If this has gone on for over a month there have to be some underlying cause to it. I would suggest talking to a analyst and try to find out what is keeping you awake. Talk therapy may be all you necessitate - if not you may want to look at an anti-depressant. I went through one and the same thing and was diagnosed next to depression - the therapy and the drugs have worked okay for me. Sleeping like normal in a minute. Good luck.

Have you tried Ambien? It isn't an OTC med, but is prescribed by your doctor...I am a "sleep technician" and I look for sleeping disorders in people. If your unusual sleeping cut-out continues you may want to discuss a sleep study with your doctor. Good luck!

find a different doctor. you can't diagnose insomnia from a blood test. receive a different doctor and tell him you can't sleep and if he doesn't offer to prescribe something, later ask! poor thing.you need some ambien.
