Answer:    My boyfriend works in a resturant and he basically came home from work with second level burns on his hand from hot oil (he accidentally spilled it on himself). So I purely did alot of reading about first aid for second degree burns.

If you can, be in motion see a doctor. I totally get it if you can't... I would love to take my boyfriend to the ER, but we simply can't afford it (no insurance).

Put antibiotic cream on the burns and wrap them loosely with a non-fuzzy bandage. Change your bandage several times a day. And wear gloves over them if you have to maintain using your hands at work. You can also put a cool wet cloth on the burns to try to stop some of the stinging as okay as take some advil or tylenol for the pain. Keep the burns as verbs as possible.

DO NOT pop any blisters that form! This will open up the skin to infection.
DO NOT put the burns in rime! This could make the burns worse.
DO NOT use any home remides! Such as mayonnaise, butter or oil, this could also wreak an infection.
DO NOT put lotion on your burns! The lotion can actually make the burns worse.

The best article to do is to keep your burns clean and covered near antibiotic ointment and a bandage. Though you should allow the burns to "breathe" lacking a bandage for a few hours every day or while you are sleeping.

The burns should alleviate between 10 days and 2 weeks. If the burns do not heal in that time or you discern severe swelling, any kind of leaking pus, or other signs of infection turn to the ER RIGHT AWAY!

You may or may not have scars on your hand. If you keep the burns clean and do not pop any of the blisters you enjoy a better chance of avoiding scars.

Good luck! I hope you discern better soon! :-).
Allow the skin to breath. Don't wrap unless you have to. Even now it is a devout idea to ice your hand. Use a bowl of ice and water mix when it starts to hurt badly/burning pocket hands out, dry, and wait 5-10 minutes. Repeat as needed for a couple of days or until swelling and burning impression stop. Ointment can help but be careful to scrutinize for allergic reactions of the skin. Taking a pain killer/aspirin will sustain get you through the next few days. If it is serious please move about see a doctor. All scars fade with time. The elder you are the more time it takes for dark results to disapear. After all healing is done you can purchase ointment like Miderma scar reducer. I have 15 stitches in my forehead and the scar salve worked great! Keep your head up! Scars add personallity and a conversation piece. Second amount burns MUST be seen by a doctor. Also, if this happened at work, it should be covered by workman's comp, but must be reported promptly. You requirement to go to the doc 1st thing within the morn and call your boss. Actually , Culll the boss first, they may have a workman's comp doc they use they you would b e required to move about too. If you are in a lot of headache and worried now, try calling your boss at home. better to do this than have a more serious problem..
You inevitability to get it examed. They should put you on antibiotics and give you some silver sulfadiazine cream to put on it so you don't draw from a secondary infection. well it does depend on what u burned it on, but wrap it during the afternoon, but at night keep it out to nouns out, but i would frequently put on burn ointmentt..
well i like Rebecca A's answer the best. if you apply the silvadine to it day after day and take care of it you should own no trouble with scaring
