HELP Nursing Course enrollment?
I am currently interested in enrolling on a nursing course within the uk. I am wondering however what course i would need to enroll on to do this?
I currently hold 3 GCSE's at a C grade for Biology, Physics and Chemistry respectively
I also hold an A contained by IT and maths
and 2 B's in English Lit and Lang
I am wondering if these qualifications alone would allow me to enrol on a nursing course or would i require more?
I also hold 2 more GCSE's at a C status and a final one at a D.
Would these grades alone allow me onto a course or would it require higher learning?
(I may also be obtain 2 AS Levels in English Literature and Psychology - if unsuccessful with simply my GCSE's would this be enough?)
thank you
Answer: I must admit I agree near Jan for the balls to say what the sincerity of nursing is, but if the job is that bad why have she done it for20 years?
Yes there is a lot of discouraging points, but if you get in within are a lot of good points, although I'm departure after 10 years to join the ambulance service.
To get onto a nursing course in a minute you have to apply through UCAS and apply to the university of your choice.
If your wanting to do this I suggest that you try working at your local hospital as a bank support worker, roughly a care assistant that works when and where ever a see is available. This will give you an insight into what is actually required both physically and emotionally Also working as a cae asst looks apt on your application form.
I would also suggest talking to your local uni about the course and what they look for surrounded by an applicant.
Good luck Phil.
as a senoir staff nurse with more than 20 years experience I have a query...why do you want to become a nurse? Sorry but with the way the profession is at the moment more individuals are trying to get out. i am already training to do something else.
You have too much responsibility. We are pen pushers not hand on nurses. You get verbally and physically abused, you are not here to work understaffed which is unsafe practise but no one cares anymore. You dont enjoy the backup you need when you need it. Two errors and you are escorted out by surety and suspended.think very intensely carefully why you are going into nursing because your expectations of the role will not be fulfilled Yes it should be enough, you hold to be a minimum age of 17 to enrol.
The interview process can be quite tough.
