How are chronic prescriptions given contained by the UK?

I'm trying to figure out how prescriptions are written and dispensed in the UK underneath the NHS. If I have a chronic condition like diabetes, does the GP grant me a 30 day prescription with a spot on number of refills? Or do you just find a 30 day prescription and then hold to go back to the GP for the subsequent prescription?

Yes usually they give you 3 months, depending on what the underlying problem is. I have 3 month prescriptions including Fentanyl Patch, however I a short time ago telephone my GP Secretary and they have the prescription waiting, I do not entail to see my GP! Best of Luck

You have to keep going rear. They generally give you 2/3 months supply of stuff at a time.
