How can a bloodclot be identifed?
Should I be concerned about the major bruising and niggle I am experiencing after having blood work done?
The nurse had a terribly difficult time taking blood for my routine blood work on Monday. She had to stick me twice and really work it to get ample blood. Now my arm is extremely bruised, approximately a 4 inch by 6 inch area. It is extremely painful, both surrounded by the bruised area and in the rest of my arm including my wrist. I am wondering how concerned I should be... Is it okay to a moment ago deal with the misery and wait for it to go away or do I call for to go to a doctor?

that is just course too much damage - i think the nurse must hold stuck the needle all the channel through the vein.
don't let that nurse try to rob blood anymore; find someone else.
You may need to ask the blood person to use a butterfly nozzle.
If they don't know what that is, they don't have adequate knowledge or experience for you to use them.
and warn them that your vein are hard for some people to hit.

this is NOT a time to purloin aspirin for the pain.
use one of the other painkillers..
My girlfirend just have a baby, and the IV had trouble going within, and she has significant bruising still(the baby is 3 weeks older now) So I would say it is probably normal, but if it make you feel better, call and ask the nurse.
