How can I quit ambian and still find some sleep?

I couldn't sleep after having my baby so my dr put me on Ambian. Now 2 years next... I cannot sleep w/out it!

Try going without it every third night. I use melatonin, which is a crude substance that your body makes to help you sleep.
Start near 3 mgs of melatonin about 30-60 minutes before bed. Good luck!

If this is a problem, ask your pharmacist how to taper sour. I would try cutting the pills and taper very slowly. Less twice a week later, every other day. Go slow like a few weeks beside each step.

My experience is that doctors will act similar to it's no big deal and tell you to a moment ago stop. That can cause lots of trouble. Taper yourself off at a rate you can tolerate.

You can give somebody a lift up to 9 mgs of melatonin per night, but for some people it may do the keep hold of you awake if it's too much for you. Try it and keep notes, record about your sleep. In changing from Ambian, you will probably start to remember your dreams or at lowest be aware that you are dreaming.

What could be wrong?

I hate that drug. A doctor gave me a scrip for Ambien too; inwardly a Week I couldn't sleep without it and the scrips would run out. It is one bad drug that have ruined lives.
I agree w/the Melatonin answer. But less is better with Melatonin. Use ONE mg of the sublingual type (under the tongue) along next to HALF the Ambien. Next night, use the one mg again with a full Ambien. Next night, use melatonin with HALF the Ambien and so on. You could also nick 3 Passion Flower caps in the afternoons.
