How can it restore to health?
Ok, my bf plays baseball ( a little too hard sometimes) and he hurt his shoulder...after just about 2 months of being in cramp he decided to go to the doctor to take it checked out. they told him he most likely has a torn ligament and that he wishes to get an MRI and Xray done...problem is that those are super expensive and he doesnt have the money for that right presently. what can he do to keep it from hurting him? is surgery the only answer?
Answer:
Rib misery / intercosal mustle?
Dear baseball adherent:bf was probably diagnosed exactly right. torn ligament.
In my humble opinion, docs are bound (by their oath) to recommend all they know about fixing the problem and further diagnostics to support up with they already know is true.
Problem is. . . .unless one has exceptionally good medical insurance, paying for these diagnostics out-of-pocket is impossible. Even if one has insurance, paying the co-payment or the percentage not covered is impossible.
I know that baseball mode the world to bf. My advice is allow the body time to recouperate on it's own. Now that the ligament is torn, there is probably some of it intact. But the nouns is weakened. Try to convince him to sit out this season. God created pain for a origin. It is a clear signal that something is wrong. If bf sits out one season, could be that his injury will not surface ever again. Tell him to avoid any activity that causes the niggle to increase or come back. The human body is an amazing thing. Doesn't other need surgery to heal!
My son plays. He injured his shoulder surrounded by a skiing accident. He can no longer throw overhead (and he was an excellent pitcher). He's 40 very soon and plays softball instead. This is better than nothing. He has no medical insurance. Let's right to be heard that my message to your bf comes from my heart. I am an RN. WE NEED SOME FORM OF SOCIALIZED MEDICINE so that people who really need robustness care do not have to suffer.

contained by order for it to begin restorative, right after the injury the acronym RICE should be remembered--Rest Ice Compression Elevate. now may be too late for defile to be prevented so my best suggestion is anti-inflammatory meds like 600 mg of over the counter ibuprophen maybe every 6-8 hours for several days (read the bottle)could diminish swelling that is probably still causing anguish. if it's not stopping him from playing ball it will probably be OK in the long run. I injured an ankle ligament one time- have physical therapy and so on-- bottom line I have swelling and pain for 2 years but its fine now. appropriate luckProps to guadalcanal.baby good comments re: docs and healthcare! nurses gotta stick together
