Not all pts are infectious or contagious such as cardiac pts.or trauma injuries
They practise what they teach in health education
They get the preventive flu vaccine shots; altho not preventive every time.
They wash their hands according to proper handwashing technique.
They pay particular attention to proper nutrition.
They ask for help.
They socialize.
They care for their mental and physical health.
They recognize signs of Stress.
They try to get enough sleep and rest

The most important things that doctors, nurses and other health care providers do to prevent themselves from getting sick is as simple as washing their hands! Before and after seeing every single patient of the day, they wash their hands thoroughly to ensure that diseases are not transmitted to themselves or to other patients. Other measures include using extra protection such as face masks or special gowns when needed for patients with diseases that are transmitted through the air. Ensuring that medical waste is disposed of in the correct bins also reduces the risk of transmitting disease. The patients that doctors and nurses care for do not always have diseases that are infectious or contagious. It they did they would be in isolation! If you have a broken leg for example the nurse cannot catch it!.
Their bodies become used to being around sick people and most likeley they built a high tolerance to viruses/colds from having a strong immune system. Plus, they all get flu shots every year.. They do have to get shots for certain things but usually many doctors and nurses have a very HIGH immune system so they dont get sick that easily..
