This may sound crazy, but try putting a tea sack in a cup of cold water... tolerate it steep for a bit.

Then take it out, and ring the water from it, newly so it doesnt get all over you.

Then apply the tea case to your lip.

Tea bags work for swelling, stopping cuts and not to mention a great cup of tea.

You got sand, is what you have done. Your skin is inflammed because you sanded stale the top few layers. Ice isn't going to do anything miraculous here. What you need to do is soothe the poor skin. Use a vitamin e gelcap if you hold one, poke a hole in the end and dot it on the spot, calmly spread it over the area. Repeat that a few times a day for a daylight or so, and the skin should settle down. It's not swollen like a twisted ankle, it's sensitive due to losing the top coat and wants to be moved out in peace a bit. If you don't have vitamin e gel, use petroleum jelly. Don't use lotion or kid oil, because it will set the area aflame. Sorry dear- that's a big reason why you learn to avoid the stubble pose kisses. They always rub you wrong.
