how do i no if my cut is infected
i have numerous cuts on my calf and their stinging and burning like no othr cut i hold had b4.
they scabbed over but as soon as i start to walk the scabs break and switch on to bleed agian..not a lot though
i also have 1 cut on my tummy i.e. not closing properly..what do i do
and is my calf infected?

-hot to the touch
-red lines extending away from the wound
-pus or other discharge other than blood or clear fluid
-a yeast-y smell
note: blush and swelling can be present without an infection, due to the immune system's natural inflammatory response.
Cuts not staying closed have more to do with depth/width than with infections.
Bandage and neosporin is your best bet.

If your cuts won't stay closed on their own (like on your stomach and your calf), see a doctor. They may requirement stitches, and the sooner you get treatment the better they will heal.Also, you may requirement a tetanus shot. Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, adults and children alike should get a booster shot every ten years.
As for signs of infection, anything red, swollen, or hot to the touch should convey you straight to a doctor's office. The same goes for any sign of pus. If you run a confusion or the area is numb, go to the doctor. Any red streaks around the wound are especially serious, because that may be tetanus.

are the cuts "oozing" anything bar blood? how red are they around the actual cuts? are they hot/warm to the touch? All signs of infection...Go see a doctor about the cut on your stomach...
