How long after a severe sprained ankle can i start running?

I severely sprained my ankle almost a month ago and now i can finally walk on it in need much pain. so how long should i wait till i start running again? also i enjoy a kickboxing class in 2weeks,should that be okay?

Answer:    you definatley need to ask your doctor. but i know, if your approaching me you dont go to the doctor for something like that so when it starts to get the impression better, then try jogging on it. if that hurts, afterwards take it easy for a while. a short time ago wait untill you can run on it but dont wait till you kickboxing class to find out. stir for a walk everyday becase for a sprain the best thing you can do is saunter on it. i promise you that is the only ruminate that can heal it. if you cant jog on it by your class, afterwards there will be other chances but running on it formerly its ready will to nothing but put together it worse..
6 weeks is the min. you should wait, so 2 more weeks may be about right. I would still be extremely aware of any pain as you start to exercise again and do not re-injure the ankle. A brace would be very apt idea as you re-strenghen the area to stablize it. I would one and only walk for a while and not run at all. Kickboxing is massively hard on the lateral support of the ankle. Just what you injured. I don't know how well you will hold up short a relapse.
