How long does it appropriate for a 1 year infirm dog to restore to health from a leg injury?

He now just sits around house. He also never walk on it when he does walk. I haven't taken him to the vet yet. But I of late need to know how long it takes.

Answer:    depending on the type of injury the dog suffered will see you to determine the best type of exercise the dog will be capable of doing.

My German Shepherd had a cist removed from his right flipside leg, and although the vet placed a "blinder" around his neck so he couldn't pick at the stitches, I allowed the dog to lay around the house til the blinder was removed and the stitches removed.

A couple of days after that, I had Sundance running trough the small waves that break on the coast as a way to get his leg muscles restored, and as long as I be in the water next to him, he loved it.

I would also take him jogging beside me when doing my morning runs along the beach, right after my morning swim of one nautical mile in the the deep. No, the dog didn't go swimming with me, but sit on the beach and watched me.

If you enjoy a treadmill, see if you can get the dog on it and standing by his side, allow the dog to walk. Any type of physical exercise is devout, providing the vet has been notify of what you intend to do and they have approved it, since they are the ones that performed the operation on the dog and they would know what is best for the dog..
economically number one this is the wrong section, nd it can take a while similar to months a while, and unless you take it to a vet to get it xrayed you in fact won't know if it'll ever heal properly, if you leave it it could alleviate wrong leaving him with a deformed leg within great pain and he could actually hold to get it amputated which would just cost you more. so purloin it to the vet and if you dont have the money you shouldnt have a dog and you should embezzle it to a shelter where they'll give it the medical attention it requests

btw its illegal to leave a dog beside an injury for long with out vet care, and you can be fined and jailed for it surrounded by nearly every place in america and europe..
Take him to the vet - the leg could be broken or fractured and if it is the dog will be in closely of pain. Also the leg wont heal properly save put in a cast.

My ancient dog broke his leg as a pup and he had a plaster cast put on for 2 months. Three months after the stereotype was removed he was obedient as gold and he lived another 15 years :)
