How hard would you have to hit to apply 58kgs of force?
My husband is being accuse of hitting someone that he didn't and is looking at 7 years jail time. The person who is accusing him says that my husband hit him surrounded by the back of the head and fractured his C1 vertebrae. We cannot afford a lawyer so I am trying to build a shield for him. All the searching I have done says that to break a C1 you hold to hit with a force of around 58kgs from the top of the head, not the back. It occur to me that if you hit someone with that sort of force you would knock them over, yet this man says he never come off his bike and that he was riding away when he was hit. Please relieve, any information would be appreciated. Please no silly comments, my family is on the line here!
Answers:    Well first off, if the C1 vertabre be actually broken, the man would have been instantly and severely injured, except completely paralyzed.

If he could potentially be facing jail time, then you definitely obligation to get a lawyer. This is not something for an amateur to deal near. Why not go with a court-appointed attorney?

Yes, if the man didn't get knock over, it's almost ridiculous to consider that his C1 was fractured by any possible strike to the back of his head. C1 fractures are usually compression base, anyway.

Frankly, unless the man can directly associate his bullshit injury with your husband (with evidence), it doesn't sound like there's even a baggage to be made. Is this a civil suit or something? Jail time? This all sounds rather off.

force equals mass times acceleration. if the guy be ridding away it would be nearly impossible for anyone to apply enough forcre to gey the job done. if you want solid evidence, i would go to a local college and see a science proffessor. it shouldn't purloin longer than ten minutes for him to prove your husband couldn't have done it with out a bat or some thing. and if the guy say it's brocken i would sapena the doctor who treated him and the x ray tech who saw him. but you should get a court appointed atturney if it is a criminal case. if it is a cival bag, get the evidence i told you and press charges against the guy for fruad.
