How to stop a blood exam from hurting? Help would be soooo much appreciated!?
I have the biggest fear of blood test. How can i stop the pain? Please don't answer with a comment such as 'be brave' or 'it only just hurts' as this isn't really constructive or helpful. thanks so much for your aid. i really need this!
Answer: I guess you could request the lab put some special numbing liquid (topical lidocaine) on your skin.which is usually reserved for little kids. Make sure you variety those arrangements BEFORE you go in for respectively blood test though.

I have type-2 diabetes so I do a finger stick blood examination myself several times a day, and it can hurt if you do it wrong.I hate to say-so this but the needle itself really doesn't hurt that much. What WILL make it hurt more is if your so on edge that all your muscles are tensed up and that makes it harder to bring the needle in.
The subsequent time you have to have one, enlighten the blood-tech that you need a second to relax. Make sure he or she takes their time. These inhabitants are trained to do this a painlessly as possible, but like everyone else they can get surrounded by a hurry. It's up to you to speak up and tell them that you need a second! Take a few vast breaths and focus your vision on something across the room. It can be anything.
Also tell yourself that this is really no big contract and that it will be over in a minute. If your all psyched up for it to hurt...it will!
Sensitive Skin, Hurting Kidney?
You know, i drew blood for a decade earlier changing careers and I enjoy always hated needles human being poked into me too strange enough..The best advice that i can contribute you ( and i know that it's gonna sound weird) is to watch the syringe go in. Most ancestors tell you not to look but that is crap. If you look, you know exactly what to expect and it will hurt smaller amount. Now if you hate the site of blood, you should close your eyes after they get the hypodermic in. Also there are some really tiny needles call butterfly needles. If you request that, the technician will probably use one for you. Let me know how it goes.what you need to do is try to attain your mind off of it, squeeze something ( most likely something similar to a stress ball, or something squishey and comforting). It helps cart your mind off of the blood test, AND NEER LOOK AT THE BLOOD COMING OUT, OR AT THE NEEDLE. I will organize to a worse fear of blood tests. And it's gross!
I've have blood drawn for tests. It doesn't bother me like it seem to you.
Relaxing helps a lot: That passageway you won't have tensed muscles resisting the needles. I generally find something mesmeric to stare at in a corner of the ceiling, and my mother swears by trying to wiggle her gone big toe.

Some med techs have more experience with the blood drawing than others. Ask for one of them.
Or you can hold a member of the opposite or same sex distract you when they draw.
