How esteemed is putting rime on a bruise?
My toddler just smashed his forehead pretty good (one of those things I saw coming the whole track but couldn't run across the room fast enough). It's swelling up, but he will NOT let me put ice on it - he's cheery if I leave him, but if I try to approach with anything he gets super wacky and starts thrashing around.
What is the benefit of the ice - is it really worth the royal struggle?
Answers: If he seems smiling without the ice on it, leave him be. Just keep hold of a close eye on him, to make sure that he hasn't sustained another serious injury to his head. But I'm sure he's fine, the ice is only just to help bring down any swelling.
Does it really hurt when this happen?

Hey hun,The ice is only to serve the swelling go down a little. thats all.
YOu can other wait till he is asleep and just lay it on his head a moment ago to help with the swelling. But if hes happy afterwards leave it be for just now.
Its not central to put ice on a bump i'm sure he'll be ok.

The ice is to stop the bleeding..if it doesn't stop on its own, and you see a large lump continuing to form, you might want to get medical attention. This is a very vascular area, so it can bleed moderately a bit. You might want to at least call the doctor for pain control, in case he has trouble next to that later on. Ice is for swelling during the first 24 hours. Then it has no effect. You can let him budge run around, he'll be fine.
