Answer: Sounds similar to it is in shock. Make sure to keep it inside because if you agree to it out it will run away and hide and you might not find it again. How or where be it hit with the stick? It may have in recent times knockedthe breath out of it. Keep it inside and keep eye on it it not better in the morning call for the vet and see what their suggestion is for it.
i would guess your cat is just dazed if there isn't any bleeding. I would try to net him comfortable for the night. and if he isn't better in the morning later take him to the vet. it is amazing what animals can deal near. sometimes cats in particular will fur to sort of lick their wounds for a few days. so i would try to keep him in an sheltered area so he doesn't decide to travel off and worry you unnecessarily.
Make him comfortable and preserve him from a dusty area be gentle next to him and ask the vet, and see if you can get some medication.
