I hyperventilate profusely lately. Why?
Alright so I'm 18 years old and this has never really happen before all my natural life.
Last year I stayed up all night and consequently the next day at college my heart started beating so fast I thought it be going to explode. And I started hyperventilating and it took a while to calm down. I think most of it be because I was scared though.
Then zilch happened for a year but I got no sleep again and it happen again. I figured it was only just a lack of sleep thing but a couple of weeks ago it happen again! But I was having greatly of eye pains (check my previous question about my eyes) and I started hyperventilating and feel like I was going to throw up.
And consequently just a week later it happen yet again! But It happened when I be really really scared. (storms are my worst fear and I be in a tornado. I started hyperventilating)
So is this normal? And if it's not, why did it individual start at 17? Shouldn't it have developed when I was a kid? Why can't I merely calm down and breathe like I used to be capable of?
Sorry if my question seems indefinable.
Answer: Late teen years are a transition age where you are going from kid to adult. You are most imagined stressed over the added responsibilities and the changes in your energy all starting to speed up. Sounds like pretty run of the mill (if they can be normal) panic attacks. You most likely discern them coming on and that's when you need to act. If you start to surface yourself get anxious and panicky, sit down and if possible find a peaceable spot. Tell yourself you are alright and that you know what is coming and start controlling it. I used to get these and still do but now as soon as I have a feeling a panic episode coming on I do what I told you and I find that within a minute or two I am support in control and the rest dissipates soon after.
Of course shortness of breath can indicate other things. Maybe even weight gain. The heavier you are, the more prone to difficult breathing you are. If you find you can't stop the hysterics coming on, get to a doctor and they can suggest other things..
hmmm just variety sure you go to sleep after you finish whatever you be doing to stay up; since you mentioned you also got it on a tornado, you might have some knocked out fear about the robustness implications it(staying up) might have but it's not that fruitless; as long as you get sleep in.
and at age 17, you have different perceptions about stuff, so possibly thats why it didnt develop; i.e you wouldnt think of staying up at age 5 or 8
cheers!.
