okay i had a CT scan of my lumbar spine and i need support with what this means as far as treatment and stuff
All the other imaged level show very little alteration. For example, there is some degenerative disc and facet disease at L4-5, not surprising surrounded by the segment immediatly above the spondylolysis. There is only minor disc bulging, however, and very little distortion of the spinal canal. Even more minor disc bulging is seen at L3-4, and after very little alteration is seen surrounded by the higher visualized segment.
There are minor degerative changes in the sacroiliac combined.
IMPRESSION: 1. Bilateral L5 spondylolysis with very minimal spondylolisthesis. There is narrowing of the neural foramina, right more than disappeared.
2. Other findings and more details as above.
DO I NEED SURGERY? HELP I AM SO SCARED? SPINAL CANAL? WILL I GET PARALYZED? CAN I GO TO SCHOOL? CAN I CARRY MY BOOKS?

Answer: You will not be paralyzed as the pain would grow too great for you to stand before that be possible. Surgery if needed is not as severe as it once was and can be done with needles at times, There are other minimally invasive technique. Discuss this with your doctor as he has see you x-rays. You might want to stop worrying as I can assure you it will not fix your back.

I'm a lay person and definitely not trained in the medical field at adjectives, however I have experienced back surgery at L4, L5 for a bulging disk. The surger be successful, for a limited time. The injury reoccured and I went through a series of cortesone injections directly into the guts. Three injections each setting for three settings. 9 injections in adjectives. Didn't work! These were extremely painful injections and I be disabled for 5 to 7 days after each series of injections.I've done God only jknows how tons Cortesone dose packs over the years, but they are only stopgap, at best. Lat I was told was with the sole purpose one option left for me and that be bone fusion, the entire lumbar region. Nope not an option with me.
Now I've intellectual to accept the pain, when it comes, and bear Ibuprofen, like it's candy. til the pain sublides.
Just cram to live with it. Actually sounds like you are not really anywhere practical surgery at this time. Don't worry too much about it.
