I hold a really tight bump on my leg

I noticed today that I had a sensitive bruised bump on my tibia. It hurts if you touch the bump, and it hurts a little to walk on the leg. What do you infer this is. Could it be a stress fracture of my tibia. It's not a hard lump or something and it is kind of squishy but it hurts alot to push on the bump. My dad said that it looks bruised and if it be bruised it would be a little swollen around the area. Should I use rice on the constituent of my leg where the bump is. (rest, ice, compression, elevation). I don't involve to use crutches do I?

I could wrap up the area where the bump is surrounded by an ace bandage.

I'm 15 btw

Answer:    It sounds similar to it's just a bruise, really. Sometimes bruises are lumpy at first, the lump will flatten out in a daylight or so.
Is the lump the same as the bruise? I mean, is it impossible to tell apart color, texture, etc. or do you have say a red lump surrounded by a bruise? In that covering it might be something like an ingrown hair or an insect bite.
Anyway, yes, RICE is a worthy idea. Or well possibly RIE. Rest, ice, and elevation. Compression can be tricky with bruises though, as if you wrap it too tightly you can in fact make the bruise worse; bruises are caused by broken capillary bleeding into the surrounding tissue. If you compress it, you're squeezing the capillaries and that can make them bleed more (like squeezing a tube of toothpaste, it spurts out the opening) which make the bruise worse.
So I'd skip the compression, but rest it, ice it, and elevate it for sure. I wouldn't think you'd want crutches.
