I enjoy an earache, and can just close my chin, what may be the effect?

I've had VERY BAD ear pain for the past couple of days; my ear is extremely plugged, and I can scarcely close the right side of my jaw (the side of my effected ear). I went to the doctor today and they have said my ear canal is almost completely closed off, and prescribed me Amoxicillin, ciprodex, and Antipy/Benzo Otic. It's now next that night, and my ear is still completely killing me after using the medication. I know it's not going to work right away, but I'm starting to wonder if it's something more than just a blocked ear conduit. It hurts when I swallow, and hurts partially down the side of my neck, and the side of my face is a bit swollen. Does anyone know what I can do to make this better or what may be the cause of this?
Answers:    Interesting that they gave you so much meds. It take a few days, sometimes a week, for meds to work. It will take more than a few hours plus it's going to take awhile to unplug the area. The point why your jaw is hurting is the pain in the Eustachian tubes. It's not unusual for chin pain to go with a severe ear infection.

Did you mention the d¨Ścolletage and jaw pain to your doctor? I suggest you call them very soon...a doctor is always on call. Tell them what's going on and take it from near. While you're waiting for them to call you back, I would apply either a heat pad, a damp heated cloth or an ice pack. Since it's your ear and the mouth pain down to the throat, moist heat or a heating wipe would most likely feel good. Hot tea or a brackish water gargle may be helpful as well.

Make sure you phone call your doc at any time when something comes up that you don't feel good about or you ruminate is worse. It's important that they know this. Also, find out about the side effects of your meds so that you're taking it correctly. Source(s): a lot of experience near different medications for different ailments and jaw pain...I've have double jaw surgery and TMJ. Also have BPPV, an inner ear disorder that comes and goes but can lead to a hell of a lot of pain and dizziness.

How do I procure rid of a..

As a hearing aid delivery service, I am often dealing with ear infections.
What you are having, does nouns like a really bad ear infection.

It is amazing how it affects your other senses. So I don't think you should not verbs yet. The symptoms usually start to decrease after 2 to 3 days. Symptoms such as neck torment, swollen face, swallowing hurts, opening your mouth hurts, pressing the side of your face lower than your ear hurts are all obvious signs of infection of the ear.

Good luck

I'm below par!! any home remedies?

It is possible that you have more than merely an ear infection going on, and you should call the doctor with any new or worsening symptoms. Source(s): RN
