I will be on prednisone for three days..?
I took 60 mg the first day, 50 mg today, and I am guessing tommorow
I will have to pocket 40 mg. Will this make me gain weight? I am taking it for tonsillitis and my first year of school was yesterday but I have to miss it. I really dont want to go back to arts school all fattened out on steriods. Please give support to.

Answer: You're on a reducing course of corticosteroids.
Corticosteroids can make you feel hungrier than you usual would feel. It's when people really distribute into the hunger that they gain weight. Unless you're eating twice what you generally would at meal time, you will have no problem.
Pred also have a diabetogenic effect meaning they have the effect of lowering your blood glucose horizontal.
So continue to eat properly, and don't be tempt to skip meals to avoid weight gain, because you may quality a little out of it if you do.
I'm sorry to hear about your tonsillitis. But I'm sure soon you will be inkling much better; plus you'll be off of the pred. :).
You will be ok. It will not cause you to gain substance. Hope you get to feeling better. So only take your medicine and gain better. No, you'll be fine...It's the chronic steroid users that gain weight...3 days wont do anything to you...be calm:).
taking a steroid for three days is not adequate to make you gain weight.
