Ice or Cold sea on a Burn?

My friedn got burned pulling out a pan from teh stove and he put rime on it... but i thought he should run it under cold water? Which is correct?

Answer:    The endorsed First Aid Training manual for both the St. John and Red Cross in the UK say that cold water is to be applied to burns and should be run over the burned area for a minimum of 10 minutes. Ice does indeed bring its own problem - as ridiculous as this sounds, it can burn the tissues and will obstruct the healing process.

Sorry this is a late response to your query..
I would favour cold water - rime COULD bring its own problems along - but I doubt whether it would make much difference given that the ice available within a domestic environment is not going to be hyper-cold. Cold water is better as it quickly cools the burn. There is a possiblity of destructive the skin under the burn with rime..
Cold water. You need to stop the burn.
