I give blood tomorrow for the first time. I'm quite distressed, has anybody got any tips on how I should approach the situation. Ive be told it hurts slightly. I have quite small beins and I am merely 17.

Hi. I’ve just recently donated blood myself for the first time. For me it lone hurt slightly when the needle was inserted, other afterwards that, nothing. It didn’t burn, it didn’t itch. Don’t be nervous going on for it, you’ll be doing something great - your blood could save someone’s life… A second thought though - don’t you need to be sour age to donate blood?

They are going to give you something to squeeze every few seconds so that the blood flow will be continuous. For me, I didn't realize I would squeeze to easier said than done and too often, leading me to confer blood too fast and that would make me nearly outdo out every time. Now, I barely squeeze the ball and travel slower too. It takes longer to get the pint but I don't receive queasy anymore. Be sure to eat no less than 3 hours formerly going. Trust me on this, and I think they will ask if you have. Other than that, biddable luck. The only time it should hurt is when they are sticking you with the nozzle.

I gave blood onmy a little while ago for my first time. I can honestly say aloud thats its easy. I HATE needles, like I would avoit going to the doctors if I know i need one, HATE them. But it was so comfortable and painless. I would go back and do it again if I could, lucklessly I have to wiat for 59 days. lol. you'll be ok, just dont stress, and dont look if you dont want to.

Congratulations for giving blood, specifically one of the best things that a person can do, it does not hurt, and even if it does for a second, think of the time that you might be saving, good opinion.

It's just feel/same like have a blood test...doesnt hurt a bit. no need to be bashful. just relax... make sure stuff your tummy 2-3 hrs prior arrive on site...
