Answer:    not at all ,.
Here's how the full thing goes (I've answered a few question very similar to this already, so I just copied my previous answer). Don't verbs about waking up, Anesthesiologists step through 4 years of undergraduate college, then 4 years of med school, next 4 years of residency. They know what they're doing. It's extremely rare to wake up.

"I've get plenty of advice for you, since I was 22 when I have mine removed (3 years ago). The surgery itself is quick. It's an outpatient procedure that lasts something like 45 minutes. I was in and out of the hospital surrounded by about 3 hours. (You have to be fully alert previously you can leave). Be sure to have plenty of movies and pillows waiting for you when you get home. From experience you're not going to want to do anything. Also hold lots of soft foods on hand. I needed 2 weeks before I could drink solid food. I was hungry all the time! Swallowing is going to be intensely painful for a while, so have greatly of cold food items handy. Popsicles, jell-o, pudding, and ice cream are going to be your primary staples until you are allowed warm foods. Then I switched to mash potatoes and soup. Your doctor will let you know when you can switch. Read through all the paperwork they confer you. And as far as drinks go- no soda or citrus drinks! That will burn! Drink water, milk, or juice singular. I think I just drank milk and apple liquid for a while. You also won't be able to speak clearly for a few days, and I'd be surprised if you even want to talk. Let your friends know going on for your surgery ahead of time (and consider having a good file messaging plan on your cell phone). As far as after the surgery and healing goes, my friends enjoy told me my voice has changed a little and for the better. It's really not permanent if that's what you're worried about! My surgery be elective since I was tired of my ER visits. And it be well worth it, I haven't been to the ER since! Good luck!!"
